Clear Creek.
Clear Creek runs near Whiskeytown, at the southern end of the Trinity Alps area. It was only a short, paved hike to reach this overlook.
We did a 3-km/2-mi out-and-back hike along the beautiful clear water.

The air temperature was uncomfortably high, and I had been looking forward to the refreshment of the swimming hole. However, the icemelt of the creek was so cold that I could not get my whole body in. Photo by Eric.
We stopped to find a geocache at the Weaverville Cemetery. It was a sad place, poorly maintained. I had never seen a cemetery in such a state of disrepair.
Here is an example of a grave. I understand that maybe the family wanted the unusual ski decoration, but the beer cans?
We had dinner on the patio at the Trinity Brewing Company. Their Third Anniversary Ale was among the best I have ever had. Then we checked into the cabin just south of Trinity Center to celebrate our anniversary.
